Positive Growth: Chester County Increases Domestic Violence Services

August 13, 2025

Survivors of domestic violence, including spousal abuse, often face life’s most difficult moments in silence, isolation, and fear. But in Chester County, Pennsylvania, no one has to face being alone. The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC) has long helped survivors break the cycle of abuse. Thanks to a $50,000 grant from “Philly Gives,” they’re expanding trauma-informed services for thousands across the county.

The LLF Law Firm Family Law Team can help you get out of an abusive relationship, get a protective order, and stay safe. You don’t have to fight this battle alone—we’ve got your back. Call us at 888.535.3686 or fill out our confidential consultation form to get started.

More Support for Chester Co DV Victims

DVCCC’s new grant helps with child services, short and long term housing, and food.

At the heart of DVCCC’s mission is its emergency shelter—a safe, confidential location where survivors and their children can find immediate refuge. This space offers more than just a bed and meals; it provides a community of care and access to crisis counseling, safety planning, and referrals to medical and housing resources. Trained advocates help survivors make informed decisions at a time when every move matters.

In addition, DVCCC offers a 24-hour hotline and free adult counseling.

How a Protection from Abuse Order Can Help

In Pennsylvania, getting protection from an abusive partner or ex doesn’t have to be complicated. A Protection from Abuse (PFA) order gives survivors a direct path to ask the court for help, fast. If you’ve been hurt or threatened by someone close to you, whether you live with them or not, you may qualify. It doesn’t matter if they’re a spouse, ex, relative, or someone you’ve dated—what matters is the abuse and your right to safety. This order acts as a first step while other legal actions are pursued.

A PFA prohibits the abuser from making contact, whether in person, over the phone, or through messages. And a PFA carries legal consequences—violating one can lead to immediate arrest.
